When the night has come, in a village among the mountains of Narayama, Tsukiyomi, God of Moon, makes the emperor disappear tragically. The inhabitants now plunged into mourning, are led by the emperor's wife to fight against gloom and regain serenity, throughout the Kagura ritual dances.

All in waves of elegantly contained emotions, the Japanese umbrellas move softly, as the great fire sticks and transparent flags unfurl their strength, hitting the ground in determined rhythms. This show praises human courage against death.
